Gary Kress has been in healthcare since 1977 except for a short stint in public accounting with an international CPA firm and 10 years with a major multi-state public utility company. During his healthcare career, he has served in various capacities, including Medicare Auditor, Controller and Director of Finance. He has been with the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill since 2003, employed through the School of Medicine as Administrative Director for the Division of Hematology/Oncology. Gary graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BSBA and is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) where he served on the Examination Content Committee. He is currently on the Editorial Advisory Board for the Journal of Accountancy and on the AICPA Joint Trial Board whose purpose is to provide for uniform enforcement of professional standards by adjudicating disciplinary charges against state society and AICPA members. Gary has three sons.
