Salley Pels

Dr. Salley Pels is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the section of Hematology Oncology at the Yale School of Medicine and the Co-Director of the Yale Hemophilia Treatment Center. She joined Yale University in 2004 after receiving her undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins and her MD from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. After completing both Pediatric Residency and Hematology Oncology Fellowship at Yale, Dr. Pels was selected as one of two National Hemophilia Foundation- Baxter Clinical Fellows in the country in 2009. During the Clinical Hemostasis and Thrombosis fellowship, she had the unique opportunity to receive an additional year of sub-specialty training in this area. She has presented at a number of national and international meetings in the field of Hemostasis. She is on the boards of the Hemophilia Alliance, the Thrombosis Hemostasis Society of North America (THSNA) and is active in the National Quality Improvement Working Group of the American Thrombosis and Hemostasis Network (ATHN) which coordinates important national projects with the CDC and HRSA.
