Roland P. Lamy, Jr.

Roland Lamy has held a variety of leadership positions in the healthcare industry including sales management, underwriting, employee benefit and rate development, hospital and physician negotiations and contracting, and government programs oversight and business management.

Prior to joining Helms & Company Inc. as a partner and consultant and working collaboratively with The Hemophilia Alliance, Roland served as the Assistant Director of Health Planning and Medicaid for the State of New Hampshire, Department of Health and Human Services. In this capacity, he was responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and deficit reduction strategies for the Medicaid program.

Roland has held other leadership roles in the healthcare environment including with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Hampshire and, subsequently, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield where he was the Executive Director of Provider Network Management for Anthem,.
As a member of the Anthem Executive Team, Roland led several work teams to refine operations following the Blue Cross and Blue Shield acquisition and focus on cost of care management within the network seeking creative models for trend mitigation in hospital, physician and pharmacy spend for the enterprise.

At Helms & Company, Roland works with a variety of hospital clients and participates on The Hemophilia Alliance payer contracting team. He has extensive sales and underwriting experience as a licensed NH Producer AND has worked with large employers on the design and negotiation of healthcare benefits, and has assisted manufacturers, unions, and government agencies to achieve optimum use of their healthcare dollar. Roland’s primary focus is using his background and expertise in provider contract negotiations helping providers remain relevant in networks at an appropriate price point that meets the needs of the payer and provider. He has worked with The Hemophilia Alliance for the past decade assisting HTCs with the challenges of payer networks, understanding patient benefit issues and helping establish the HTC value proposition to the payer community. Roland has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Bloomsburg University and a Master’s in Business Administration from New Hampshire College.

Roland serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of a newly formed population health organization jointly owned by three Hospitals and a large insurer as well as serving on the board of the New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute.
