The Hemophilia Alliance gives back to the hemophilia community through the Hemophilia Alliance Foundation — as the primary source of its funds. The Hemophilia Alliance Foundation awards grants to chapters, associations and centers serving the bleeding disorders community. Funds are applied to research, equipment and education. The Alliance Grants Committee granted $696,000 to the community from 2009-2012. The Grants Committee transformed into the Hemophilia Alliance Foundation in 2013, when the latter incorporated. Between 2013 and 2021, the Alliance donated $6,680,245 to the Hemophilia Alliance Foundation.

The Alliance is pleased to fund ATHN (American Thrombosis and Hemostasis Network) and its mission to improve patient outcomes as stewards of hemostasis and thrombosis data and analytics. A nonprofit organization, ATHN uses technology and data to transform care and improve the lives of people affected by bleeding and clotting disorders. ATHN supports 135 HTCs in their efforts to gather much-needed health data and to provide outstanding patient care.

The Alliance Pharmacy (TAP) is a 501(c)3 organization that is licensed as a pharmacy in all 50 states and is ACHC accredited. TAP is also licensed as a wholesale distributor and is a verified authorized wholesale distributor (VAWD). The Hemophilia Alliance and The Alliance Pharmacy have a memorandum of understanding but are independent 501(c)3 organizations.

Improving patient care is the goal of the Hemophilia Alliance’s strategic alignment with The Alliance Pharmacy (TAP). TAP, with similar beginning as the not-for-profit Positudes, also focuses on assisting individuals with chronic diseases. While initially recognized as a growing contract pharmacy and possible payer contracting arm for the Hemophilia Alliance members, it was soon recognized the relationship could be so much more. Today, TAP has grown from a pharmacy licensed in all 50 states, to a ACHC/VAWD accredited wholesale distributor for a number of hemophilia related products. The strategic alignment of the Hemophilia Alliance and TAP has created, for the membership, a considerable array of resources to do exactly what we set out to accomplish on behalf of our patients, and our membership.
